Helm Supports Budget Bill that Cuts Spending and Holds the Line on Taxes

HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) on Tuesday joined a majority of her House colleagues in supporting the budget plan for fiscal year 2017-18. The spending proposal totals $31.52 billion, which is $815 million below Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget blueprint and $246 million less than the current fiscal year. House Bill 218 does not raise taxes and continues to allocate additional funding to education and human services.
