HARRISBURG – In her continuing effort to keep older residents informed about programs and services that improve the quality of their lives, state Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) for the first time is hosting a Senior Expo in Grantville, Dauphin County.
The free event will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Hanover Township Municipal Building, 8848 Jonestown Road.
“We are excited to bring our expo to this part of the county. I encourage all seniors and their caregivers to join us,” said Helm. “This event brings a variety of businesses and service providers together under one roof, making it more convenient to learn about the benefits available to older residents in our area. My staff and I will also be happy to discuss any state-related issue or concern.”
Helm’s Senior Expo will feature dozens of exhibitors from nonprofit agencies; local, state and federal governments; and area businesses that will provide information on programs and services available to older Pennsylvanians on a wide range of topics, including health care, insurance, nutrition and exercise, fire safety, financial planning, fraud protection, government, hunting and fishing, and personal safety.
In addition, seniors wishing to donate a U.S. flag for the Avenue of Flags at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery can bring them to the expo for pickup.
Refreshments and a number of door prizes will be offered. Winners of the door prizes must be present to win.
For more information, please call Helm’s Susquehanna Township office at (717) 651-0100.
