HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) today announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has awarded a grant of $22,447 to Dauphin County Technical School. PDE awarded a total of nearly $1.2 million in grants to 32 career and technical centers and area vocational technical schools across the Commonwealth.

These funds will be used to purchase equipment aligned with the needs of local employers for use in PDE-approved career and technical education (CTE) programs and to provide hands-on training to students in those programs.

“There are thousands of technical and trade jobs throughout the Commonwealth, but there is often a lack of qualified candidates for those positions,” said Helm. “Investing in our CTE programs is the best way to ensure that our students have the tools and knowledge they need to fill those positions.”
