– In her continuing effort to keep older residents informed about programs and services that improve the quality of their lives, Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) is once again hosting her annual Senior Expo in northern Dauphin County.
The free event will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association Building, 31 Bunker Hill Road in Halifax
“I encourage all seniors, their family members and caregivers to make plans to join us and learn about the various services available to them in our area,” said Helm. “This information can sometimes be difficult to obtain. Our expo makes it easier and more convenient by bringing service providers and seniors together at the same time, under one roof.”
Helm’s Senior Expo will feature dozens of exhibitors from nonprofit agencies; local, state and federal governments; and area businesses that will provide information on programs and services available to older Pennsylvanians on a wide range of topics, including health care, insurance, nutrition and exercise, financial planning, fraud protection, government, hunting and fishing, and personal safety.
In addition, a Prescription Drug Take-Back Program Drop-Off Box will be available to safely and properly dispose of any unused or expired medications. No “sharps,” please.
Something new this year will be a senior citizen coloring contest. Refreshments and door prizes will also be offered. Winners of the door prizes must be present to win.
For more information, please call Helm’s Millersburg office at (717) 692-0833.
