HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) is once again hosting a special event to recognize the service and sacrifice of local veterans on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the National Civil War Museum, 100 Concert Drive in Harrisburg
The deadline to reserve a seat at the free event, which includes lunch, is Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Reservations can be made online at SueHelm.net
or by calling one of her district offices in Susquehanna Township (717-651-0100) and in Millersburg (717-692-0833).
Each veteran in attendance will receive a special commemorative lapel pin.
“Our local veterans will find this special event to be a memorable experience,” said Helm. “I am pleased to be able to honor each of them for their service to the nation.”
The event is limited to only those veterans and their spouses, or one guest, who live in the 104th Legislative District. The district includes Dauphin, East Hanover Township, Halifax, Halifax Township, Jackson Township, Jefferson Township, Middle Paxton Township, Millersburg, Penbrook, Reed Township, Rush Township, Susquehanna Township, part of Swatara Township, Upper Paxton Township and Wayne Township in Dauphin County; and East Hanover Township and North Annville Township in Lebanon County.
If the veteran has a disability and is brought by a guest, the guest may stay for the event.
Veterans wishing to donate a U.S. flag for the Avenue of Flags at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery can bring them to the event for pickup.
